FARMINGTON – Florence A. White, 92, of Farmington, went home to be with the Lord, on Sunday, Jan. 23.

She was born, July 21, 1912, in Rangeley, a daughter of Linton and Alice V. (Haley) Hoar. She attended Rangeley schools, graduating from Rangeley High School.

In August of 1932, she married Scott H. White in Rangeley, and he died in 1995.

She was a devoted homemaker to her husband and children throughout her life. She was very gifted in sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She made many beautiful articles of clothing, crafts, and decorations for her family and friends over the years.

She loved playing Bingo, doing crossword puzzles, reading, playing the piano, and cheering on her favorite New England sports team, the Boston Red Sox.

She is survived by a son, Arlo White and his wife, Barbara, of Farmington; two daughters, Louise Bunker and her husband, Joel, of Farmington, and Joyce Quirrion and her husband, Danny, of East Jay; a sister, June Tomlins of Farmington; sister-in-law, Abbie Hoar of Farmington; 16 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Glenwood; three brothers, Kenneth, Omer, and Adrian; and a sister, Shirley.
