NORWAY – Walter John Barlow Jr., 56, of South Paris, died Monday, Jan. 24, at Stephens Memorial Hospital after a brief battle with cancer.

He was born in Bayonne, N.J., on Dec. 9, 1948, the son of Walter J. and Stacia Barlow Sr. He attended Catholic schools and Seton Hall Prep., earning his bachelor of science degree in chemistry from St. Anselms.

He enjoyed jazz music, and gardening, producing tomatoes and large zucchinis. He was a sports fan, watching the Red Sox, the New England Patriots, and St. John’s University basketball. He was a good listener, and a great husband, father, and grandfather. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, the former Rebecca Louise Gay of South Paris; two daughters, Jessica Colon and her husband, Anthony, and their two children Joshua and Dominick, all of Lewiston, and Jennifer Landis and her husband, Brian, of South Paris; two sons, Jan Michael and his wife, Ardhyarini, of Lewiston, and Jarrod and his wife, Ashley, of Norway; his mother, Stacia Barlow of Ohio; two sisters, Judith Sentman and her husband, Robert, of Illinois, and Joanne Barlow of Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
