KINGFIELD – Frank O. Taylor, 72, of Kingfield, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, at the Orchard Park Rehabilitation and Living Center, with his wife by his side.

He was born in Augusta on March 7, 1932, to Warner E. and Ethel (Preater) Taylor.

He moved to Kingfield and married the late Sharlene Norton Taylor.

In 1969, he married Dawn Norton Taylor.

He enjoyed farming, animals and children. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his grandchildren. He loved going for rides to look for wildlife.

For many years, he enjoyed taking his family snowmobiling, to stock car races and to the movies.

After moving to Kingfield, Frank worked at the Wing Farm for Earl Wing. He later worked for Jordan Lumber Co. in Kingfield before starting his lawn care and trash removal business, which he ran until being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1990.

In addition to his wife, Dawn, Frank is survived by his children, Scott Taylor and Tracy Bessey and her husband Tom, all of Kingfield; two grandchildren, Richard and Samantha Bessey, of Kingfield; five sisters, Alvena Jones and her husband, Lloyd, of South Windsor, Conn., Beverly Armstrong and her husband, Rodney, of Augusta, Mabel Smith and her companion, Richard Weeks, of Augusta, Lillian McCormick and her husband, Richard, of West Gardiner, and Wanita Ellis and her husband, Boyd, of Augusta; three brothers, Warner Taylor, of Augusta, John Taylor and his wife, Maureen, of Pittsfield, N.H, and Richard Taylor, of Augusta; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, Harrison Taylor; and two sisters-in-law, Nancy Taylor and Eleanor Taylor.
