WORCESTER, Mass. – Wilbur E. “Elwood” Mann, 80, formerly of Lewiston, and Webster, Mass., died Tuesday Jan. 25, at Clark Manor Healthcare Center in Worcester, Mass.
He was born in Lisbon, on Sept. 27, 1924, the son of the late Wilbur and Annie (Stone) Mann. He graduated from Lisbon High School in 1942, and served his country in the United States Army Air Force during World War II.
He worked as a millwright for 30 years at Pejepscot Paper Co. in Pejepscot, retiring in 1986. He was also a lifetime member of the Coombs-Mountfort American Legion Post 158 in Lisbon.
He is survived by two daughters, Marguerite Kennedy and her husband, David Kennedy, of Webster, Mass., with whom he had resided since 1991, and Linda (Mann) Banville and her companion, Lucien Cote, of Oxford; three sons, John H. Mann of Bangor, George E. Mann and his wife, Aileen, of Springvale, and David Mann Delehanty of Lisbon; nine grandsons, Jason Kennedy and Justin Kennedy, both of New York, N.Y., Brian Mann of Dover, N.H., Nathan Mann of Sanford, Aaron, Ian, Eben, and Zachary Mann, all of Springvale, and Denis Delehanty of Lisbon; a sister, Marjorie Delehanty of Lisbon; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife of 30 years, Georgette (Fortin) Mann of Lewiston, who died on May 8, 1977; a brother, C. Howard Mann; and two sisters, Wilma Stowe, and Mildred Mann.
