WILTON – No one was injured Wednesday night when a vehicle slid into a Wilton plow truck’s tire on Route 156, police said.

Thomas Bell of Yarmouth was traveling west about 8 p.m. on a straight stretch of the road and lost control on the slick surface, sliding into the town truck that was traveling east, Franklin County sheriff’s Deputy Aaron Turcotte said.

The truck was operated by Peter Tilton of Wilton, he said.

Bell’s 1996 Nissan Sentra was totaled, Turcotte said. The 2004 GMC town truck received minor damage, he said.

Interim Wilton Police Chief Ed Leahy said he called in the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department to investigate the accident because the truck was owned by the town.
