FALMOUTH – Charles D. Jenkins, 90, of Lantern Lane, Cumberland Foreside, passed away on Jan. 26, at Falmouth by the Sea following a brief illness.

He was born in Sabattus, a son of Eugene Jenkins and Mildred Jenkins Farrar. Charles graduated from Sabattus High School and the Renouard School of Embalming in New York City.

He owned and operated the Teague and Stevens Funeral Home, formerly in Lewiston, from 1936 to 1965, when he retired. He was a life member, and past patron of the Mount Olivet No. 29 Eastern Star. He was also a life member of the Kora Temple Shrine. He was post master of the Asklar Lodge, past officer in Scottish Rite Masonry, and a member of the Odd Fellows and Fidelity Rebekah, a charter member of the Androscoggin Valley Square and Compass Club. He was also a former member of the Lewiston and Auburn Rotarian.

He received his honorary 33rd degree in Boston in 1966, from Scottish Rites Masons. He was also a member of the United Baptist Church in Lewiston.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Carrie E. Brewer Jenkins, of Cumberland Foreside.
