The Oak Hill High School cheerleaders won the Class B KVAC Cheerleading Championship on Monday January 17 at the Augusta Civic Center. After months of grueling practices and late nights, the Raiders finally broke Rockland’s eight year hold on the competition. Oak Hill’s crowd, quite possibly one of the biggest crowds at the Civic Center that day, was all decked out in this year’s competition t-shirts supporting the girls.
Senior Chelsey Powers states, “All of us agree that winning this competition was one of the greatest experiences of our lives.”
The solid Oak Hill squad consists of seniors Raechel Wark, Chelsey Powers, Ashley Tanguay, Jaci Peterson, Katelyn Samson and Laura Burgess; juniors Cristal Giguere, Allie Anctil, Ally Gervais, Becky Poulin, Kayla Rancourt, Danielle Bourgoin and Jen Dionne; sophomores Katie Turcotte, Alicia Quesenberry and Courtney Davis; freshmen Jenna Camardese and Steph Gauthier, and coach Mrs. Angela Roy.
