GORHAM – Megan Myles, a graduate of Edward Little, and Katie Frost netted 14 points apiece to lead Southern Maine to a 79-45 victory over St. Joseph’s.
The Huskies (17-2) jumped out to a 21-5 lead in the first eight minutes of play and never trailed.
Lewiston native Val Dumais led St. Joe’s overall with a 14-point performance.
Husson 63, UMF 59
BANGOR – Michelle Murray netted 19 points Wednesday to pace Husson to a 63-59 victory over the University of Maine at Farmington.
Melissa Sawyer led the Beavers (14-5) with a 16-point performance, while Kari Simpson tallied 15 and Meagan Cyr added 12.
Maine Maritime 66, Thomas 48
CASTINE – Alyssa Burns drained a game-high 25 points to pace Maine Maritime to a 66-48 victory over Thomas College.
Tammy Fowler led Thomas with 19 points.
Men’s basketball
Southern Maine 83, St. Joseph’s 69
GORHAM – Jason Levecque led a group of four players to reach double digits Wednesday as the Southern Maine rolled over St. Joseph’s 83-69 in collegiate mens’ basketball action.
Levecque tallied 19 points to lead the Huskies (8-11), while Bill Hardwick and Mike Francoeur added 12 and 11 respectively.
Jon Pratt led the Monks (8-9) with a game-high 23 points.
CMCC 72, Ben Franklin 69
AUBURN – Jon Wallingford lit up the boards with 20 points, including four treys, to lead Central Maine Community College to a 72-69 victory over Ben Franklin.
Taylor Caron chipped in for the Mustangs with 15 points, while Chris Brackett tallied 13 and Pat Dempsey added 10.
Kevin Andrews and Washington Morrissett led Ben Franklin with 19 points each.
