PRESQUE ISLE – Virginia Goodnow Little Hood, 95, died Feb. 1, at her home in Presque Isle.

She was born Oct 12, 1909, in Shelburne, N.H., the tenth daughter of Frank and Samantha (Mason) Goodnow. She grew up in Bethel, and married Edward E. Little, Sr., and they had a son Edward, Jr. In 1939, she married Ralph O. Hood, DO, and they had three children, a daughter, Roberta, and two sons, Warren and Wayne. They lived in Berlin, N.H. Her husband, Ralph, died in 1966, and in 1972, she moved to Largo, Fla., and then to Presque Isle in 2004.

She is survived by a sister, Dorothy Watson of Largo, Fla; her sons, Edward Little and his wife, Mary, of Presque Isle, and Largo, Fla., Warren Hood and his wife, Shizuko, of Washburn, and Wayne Hood and his wife, Sherry, of Lewiston; a daughter, Roberta Aripez and her husband of St. Mary’s, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Janice Scribner, Nanci Little, Donna Couture, Edward Hood, Tracy and Carry Hood, and Eric Aripez; and five great-grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed.
