OXFORD – Laura Mae Yeager, 84, died Thursday, Feb. 3, at her residence on Greenbanks Lane in Oxford.

Born in Mars Hill, on May 19, 1920, she was a daughter of Floyd and M. Gwendolyn (Smith) Libby. She graduated from Aroostook Central Institute and Maine General Hospital School of Nursing in Portland in 1942.

She was employed at Cuttler Army Hospital in Fort Devens, Mass., as a nurse, until her retirement in 1981.

She was a member of the Oxford County Extension and the Lake Thompson Senior Citizens.

She was married in Westbrook on Oct. 2, 1942 to Charles J. Yeager, who died on Dec. 18, 1976.

Survivors include a daughter, Barbara J. Curtis and her husband, Walter, of Oxford; three sons, Robert A. Yeager and his wife, Mikala, of Winter Park, Fla., Paul Yeager and his wife, Gladys, of South Berwick, and Phillip Yeager of Rochester, N.Y.; one brother, Floyd Libby Jr. of Gorham; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one stepgrandson.

She was predeceased by a son, Charles Yeager; a brother, Eugene Libby; and a sister, Sarah Turgeon.
