RUMFORD – The Oxford County ARC will hold its 30th annual ride-in from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, at Horizon’s Unlimited, 319 Swain Road. The ride-in is a major fund-raiser for the ARC. Money is raised primarily through donations and by selling of raffle tickets. Prizes include cash as well as donated articles such as an afghan, a crocheted hat, scarf and purse; two Sunday River lift tickets; an oil change; a Subway party platter and meal tickets from Sam’s Restaurant; and a gift certificate to the What Not Shop.

Tickets are available at the Adult Activity Center and the What Not Shop at 85 Lincoln Ave. The event includes a buffet lunch, snowmobile rides, raffle drawings, and an opportunity to buy a pie to smash in the face of some area celebrities.

Money raised by the effort go to support the ARC’s projects and programs that are not covered by Medicaid reimbursement. The Oxford County ARC provides services to people with developmental disabilities. It was formed by parents and has continued to provide support and training services without interruption since 1956.
