SOUTH PORTLAND – Taylor Caron dropped in the game-high 22 points and Chris Brackett followed with 21 as Central Maine Community College (18-4) walked off with an 87-61 victory over Southern Maine Community College and the Maine Small College championship Sunday afternoon.
CMCC held a slim 36-25 lead over SMCC at the half. For CMCC, Jon Wallingford scored 12 points, Patrick Dempsey had 11 and Kaleb Violette hit for 15.
John Gilden led SMCC with 20 points.
