NORWAY – Louis Joseph Sicotte Sr., 81, of Summit Street, Bryant Pond, died Sunday, Feb. 6, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Rumford, on July 7, 1923, the son of Albert and Eva (Rowe) Sicotte.

He joined the Marines in 1941 and served during World War II.

He was a member of the American Legion Post in Locke Mills.

He was employed as a dairy man, boiler operator, cook and baker.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He enjoyed wood working, leather work and was an avid reader.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Margaret (Levesque) Sicotte of Bryant Pond; sons, Daniel of Maine, Louis Jr. of Bryant Pond, and Gerald Smith of Delaware; daughters, Rebeca and husband, Jack Higginbotham, of Berlin, N.H., Gert and husband, Ed Friel, of Albany, and Susan Ellis of Bryant Pond; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Edmon (Lonnie), Eddie and James; and a sister, Evelyn Campagna.
