LISBON – School officials are now waiting for results on air quality tests at Philip W. Sugg Middle School to determine if there is a mold problem as a result of burst steam pipes over the weekend.
The school, which houses students in grades seven and eight, was flooded when two steam pipes burst on Sunday, damaging walls, floors and some materials.
Due to the damage, classes were canceled this week and the school will be closed next week for school vacation.
A School Committee spokesman said Wednesday that school officials do not have an estimate of the damage.
