The Sun Journal’s front-page top story on Feb. 8 was headlined “BIW braces for cuts.” At the bottom of the front page was a story titled “Kindness to spare” about a positive incident.

Would it not have been better to promote deeds of exemplary behavior at the top of the front page rather than giving that spot to the BIW downer? I do believe in accentuating the positive and minimizing the negative.

Lewiston needs more Bryan Reeds. In fact, the city needs multi-Bryan Reeds. People who promote positive behavior need to be portrayed on the top half of the page frequently. It seems to me that negative stories get the front-page top.
