RUMFORD – Rumford Hospital Auxiliary President Barbara Belanger presented a check for $2,500 to hospital CEO John Welsh with a promise of another gift if the auxiliary’s annual yard sale is successful. The sale is set for Saturday, May 21.

This year’s annual appeal, which ends on June 30, aims to raise $50,000 toward the more than $100,000 worth of medical equipment that will be needed to outfit the expanded day surgery and emergency departments of the hospital. The renovation and expansion of these areas reflect the demand for outpatient services.

“The auxiliary’s financial support is, of course, very welcome,” said Welsh, “but their support of patients and staff is even more important.”
