NEW YORK (AP) – Two planes bumped Saturday morning on the ground at La Guardia Airport, but none of the several hundred passengers on the flights was injured.

Holly Baker, a spokeswoman for the Federal Aviation Administration, said several hundred passengers were taken off the planes after the incident at about 7 a.m.

The back of a U.S. Airways jet – an Airbus bound for Charlottesville, Va. – was backing out of a gate when it struck the tail of another U.S. Airways plane ready to start moving for a flight to Philadelphia, Baker said.

She did not immediately know the cause of the collision.

The planes sustained only minor damage and several hundred passengers on the two planes made other travel arrangements.
