This is in response to Ken Scribner’s letter of Feb. 13. First, he is lucky to own 72 acres of wildland. Or, I should say, the people who get to use that land for so many different activities are the lucky ones. It is hard to find a place where a person can hunt, snowmobile or use an ATV all on the same landowner’s property. I’m sure the cross-country skiers and snowshoers are happy to have a nice place to enjoy their sports, also.

Scribner goes on to say that if the Sunday hunting proposal doesn’t pass, he will post his land with no trespassing signs. The only people he will hurt are the ones enjoying his land. He isn’t going to hurt government agency officials. They will always find a way to keep the money coming in. Perhaps they will increase the cost of fishing licenses again.

I have been hunting and enjoyed it very much. My husband and brother-in-law are both avid hunters, with gun and bow. It’s people like Mr. Scribner who allow them places to hunt.

I have heard opinions from people both for and against Sunday hunting, and I must say, both sides have some very good points.

I don’t know Mr. Scribner, or even where his land is, but I hope he will think it all over and forget about buying any no trespassing signs.
