SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) – About 185 Vermont Army National Guard troops are due home from Iraq on Monday morning, officials said.

The soldiers will arrive at the Burlington International Airport on two aircraft between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m.

A brief welcome-home ceremony is scheduled for 6:45 a.m., said Guard spokeswoman Master Sgt. Jill Hicks.

The soldiers have been in New Jersey for the last week doing paperwork and receiving medical checkups after spending 11 months on the ground fighting in Iraq.

A formal welcome home ceremony is being scheduled for this spring.
