LEWISTON – Andrea “Andy” Paquet, 75, of Park Street, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Feb. 21.

He was born March 30, 1929, in St. Georges Beauce, Quebec, Canada, son of Georges-Aime and Clarisse (Poulin) Paquet.

He was educated in Quebec schools, and had lived in Lewiston since 1956. He became a highly skilled carpenter and always joked that his hobby of woodworking was his “golf.” He could fix anything, and was a much sought-after handyman. He was a voracious reader, an avid history buff, a master at crossword puzzles, and had a distinctive sense of humor. “Grandpa” also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his five grandchildren.

He was a member of St. Peter’s Parish, la Societe de St. Pierre et St. Paul, Association Canado American, and the Knights of Columbus, Council 106.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 48 years, Jacqueline (Rodrigue); he is also survived by his two sons and their families, Raymond and Jane, and their children, Nicole, Suzanne, and R.J., of Farmington, Conn.; Daniel and Faye, and their children, Jordan and Taylor of Lewiston; three brothers, Paul-Aime, Pere Henri, and Bruno, of Canada; and two sisters, Carmen Rodrigue, and Jeanne Breton also of Canada.
