LEWISTON – Dorothy E. Peterson, 83, of Crocket Road in Raymond, died at Montello Manor Nursing Home, Tuesday, Feb. 22.

She was born in Lewiston on Sept. 3, 1921, the daughter of George and Clara (Peverly) Paiton. She was educated in Auburn, and graduated from Edward Little High School with the Class of 1939.

On March 17, 1940, she married Kenneth Peterson and together started their family. She was employed at General Electric Co. for many years, until her retirement. She enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, and attending monthly luncheons with her fellow General Electric retirees.

She is survived by five daughters, Judith Pike and husband, Fred “Bud,” of Auburn, Margaret “Peg” Malloy and husband, James, of West Bath, Karen Peterson of Lewiston, Susan Stevens of Mechanic Falls, and Jill Peterson of Whiting; two sons, Kenneth Peterson Jr., of Whitney, Texas, and Thomas Peterson of Santa Monica, Calif.; son-in-law, Jerry Willey of Palmyra; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; two brothers, Donald Paiton and wife, Barbara, of Weld, and Dwight Paiton and wife, Beverly, of Auburn.

She was predeceased by her husband in 1985; and her daughter, Janice Willey in 2003.
