LEWISTON – Mrs. Dorothy “Babe” A. Anderson, age 101, formerly of 23 Davis St., Lisbon Falls, died Thursday morning Feb. 24, at the Russell Park Manor in Lewiston.

She was born in Somerville, Mass., Jan. 31, 1904, the daughter to William and Annie Mandlef Thaxter. She was educated in Bedford, Mass., and on June 12, 1920, married George C. Anderson. He died February 15, 1980.

Dorothy was employed for many years at the J.P. Stevens Mill.

She attended the Lisbon United Methodist Church. She was known all over town for her famous chocolate chip cookies and her daily walks around the area. She loved to crochet for her family, and watch her Wheel of Fortune game show on television.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by two granddaughters, Lauren Wentworth and her husband, Michael, of Lisbon, and Terri Roberge and her husband, Robert, of Las Vegas, Nev.; five great-grandchildren; and many great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her two sons, Maynard and Charles Anderson; and by her granddaughter, Noreen Trepanier.
