RUMFORD – James “Jimmy” Glover, 47, of Rumford and Dixfield, died late Thursday evening at Rumford Community Hospital.

He was born in Rumford, Jan. 10, 1958, a son of John and Regina Perry Glover and was a graduate of Rumford High School in 1978.

He was employed at the Adult Activity Center in Rumford in the 1980s, and then helped care for his mother in their Lincoln Avenue home in Rumford, before moving to Dixfield. He was a regular customer at Shop n Save in Rumford and was a real “ladies man.” He was a loving family member and a self-motivated individual who loved singing, dancing, movie trivia, and was an avid Star Trek fan. He also had been an active participant in the Maine Special Olympics.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Shirley Davis and her husband, Paul, of Rumford, Wm. Henry Glover and his wife, Lillian, of South Carolina, Joan Glover of Freeport, Judith “Christie” St. Pierre of Lewiston, Patricia Horne and her husband, Warren, of Connecticut, Elsie White of Dixfield, Peter Glover and his wife, Beverly, of Dixfield, Lori Ricci and her husband, Mike, of Francestown, N.H., Jeff Glover and his wife, Janice, of Dixfield, and Duane Glover and his wife, Lucie, of Rumford; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father in 1979; his mother in 1997; and an infant brother, John Albert Glover.
