MILWAUKEE – Chris Bosh scored 27 points and Jalen Rose hit two clinching free throws with 11 seconds left as the Toronto Raptors never trailed in defeating the Milwaukee Bucks 106-102 Friday night.

Leading 98-94 with less than a minute to go, Toronto’s Donyell Marshall missed a 3-pointer. But Bosh grabbed the rebound and found Morris Peterson for a dunk and a 100-94 lead.

Milwaukee pulled to 101-98 on Desmond Mason’s rebound basket with 21 seconds to go, but Peterson hit a free throw to make it 102-98. Michael Redd, who missed 15 of 20 shots and scored only 2 points in the fourth quarter, then missed consecutive 3s, and Rose hit both free throws to make it 104-98.

Maurice Williams had 21 points while Joe Smith added 20 points and 14 rebounds for Milwaukee, which had won five of seven.

Toni Kukoc hit two free throws to pull the Bucks within 90-89 with 3:17 left. Marshall and Rafer Alston then hit consecutive 3-pointers to give the Raptors a 96-89 lead with 1:52 to go.

Bosh made eight of 14 shots and 11 of 12 free throws while grabbing eight rebounds for Toronto. The Raptors are 13-4 when he scores at least 20 points and 10-28 when he doesn’t.

Joe Smith scored five points in Milwaukee’s 9-1 run to end the third quarter, bringing the Bucks within 75-72 going to the fourth.

Milwaukee had a depleted bench a day after trading key reserves Keith Van Horn and Mike James. The Bucks’ reserves missed 20 of 26 shots and were outscored 33-24 by the Raptors’ subs.

Toronto never trailed, taking the lead for good, 19-17, on Bosh’s layup with 4:17 left in the first quarter. The Raptors led 54-49 at halftime behind Bosh’s 13 points.

Milwaukee’s bench players missed 14 of 17 shots in the first half, with Kukoc missing all five of his attempts, Erick Strickland missing all three of his shots and Marcus Fizer missing five of six.
