NORWAY – A new health care practice for women called Blue Moon Midwives opened its doors on Jan. 19 after two months of renovations.

With a combined 50 years of experience, Jane Mills and Cathy Heffernan, both certified nurse midwives, have opened a private practice in the former Hutchin’s Jewelry store at 176 Main St., offering pregnancy care, gynecological and well-woman care for all ages.

Midwives are practitioners that specialize in women’s health and can offer a range of services. In the near future they also plan on offering classes in hypnobirthing, breastfeeding and centering pregnancy.
