RUMFORD – The Red Hat Mommas of Western Maine met on Feb. 23 at the Rumford United Methodist Church for a potluck supper.
Red hat pins were won by Pat Hopkins, Marcelle Miller and Anna Roy. The March meeting will be a ham dinner put on by the Methodist Church at the church on Wednesday, March 30.
The cost will be $6.50 a person, and reservations and a payment should be made to Isabelle by Monday, March 21.
Chinese auction
PARIS – The Oxford Hills School District head custodians will hold their annual Chinese auction to benefit the Head Custodian Scholarship Fund at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School cafeteria.
Doors will open at 11 a.m. Hundreds of items will be auctioned, including two donated certificates for $100 and $200 to the Undercover Flea Market in Oxford, and a 6 by 8 chain link dog kennel.
The event will also offer a bake sale, food buffet and a 50/50 raffle. Last year’s auction brought $3,500 in scholarship money that was divided into seven scholarships. Anyone who would like to donate items should call the individual school. All donations and should be submitted to the school custodian by Friday, March 4.
