LEWISTON – The Catholic Church has postponed a program on child sexual abuse prevention scheduled for March 1 because of an impending snowstorm. The presentation was rescheduled to take place from 1 to 4 p.m. April 15 at Holy Family Parish Center.

“Child Lures Prevention” is a program that raises awareness for parents and children about tricks and tactics used by sexual offenders to lure children into dangerous situations.

“Child Lures” was developed by Kenneth Wooden, a nationally recognized expert in the field of child exploitation. The program is designed for students of all ages and covers the topics of sexual abuse, abduction, Internet crime, drug abuse and school violence.

“Child Lures Prevention” will be taught to children and their parents as part of the curriculum in Catholic schools and religious education programs in parishes.
