AUGUSTA – Edith B. Patterson, 90, a resident of 390 South Hunts Meadow Road, Whitefield, died Sunday, Feb. 27, at the Augusta Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in East Auburn, Nov. 22, 1914, the daughter of Albert and Lena (Bachelor) Berry. She attended Auburn schools, and was a 1933 graduate of Edward Little High School.

Following school, she was employed with SS Kresge in Lewiston, and married Hiram N. Patterson in 1936. She became an office manager in the local shoe industry, having worked at Clark Shoe and also for Donnell Bixby, where she retired in 1976.

Following retirement, she moved to Thomas Pond in Casco and also wintered in Florida. She was a member of the Advent Christian Church in Raymond and the Calvary Baptist Church in Whitefield. She was affectionately known as the “Cookie Lady.” She was the last of 12 children.

Survivors include one daughter, Carol Fulton and her husband, Michael, of Whitefield; one granddaughter, Lynn Linkenbach; and one great-grandson, Benjamin.

She was predeceased by her husband, Hiram N. Patterson on April 4, 1988.
