BANGOR – Lawrence Partridge Hussey, 89, husband of the late Maxine (Fields) Hussey, passed away peacefully, Sunday, Feb. 27, surrounded by his family at a Bangor hospital.

He was born in Bath, April 3, 1915, the son of William P. and Hattie (Partridge) Hussey.

Lawrence was a resident of Frankfort for more than 80 years, and was a graduate of the Eastern Maine Conference Seminary of Bucksport, Class of 1932.

He was a member of the Frankfort Congregational Church for more than 60 years, was a founding member of the Frankfort Fire Department, member of the Frankfort Men’s Club and a member of Frankfort Associates, a group that bought and restored old homes and then sold them. He was also a member of Howard Masonic Lodge 69 A.F. and A.M. of Winterport for more than 50 years and a former member of Anah Temple Shrine of Bangor.

He had always worked for himself, and owned a grain and hardware store and a chicken and egg farm in Frankfort for many years. Over the years, he harvested and sold blueberries and also sold cars.

Lawrence was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Maxine, on Jan. 17, 2005; and by a son, John A. Hussey on Feb. 1, 1990; a brother, Glenn Hussey; and by a sister, Phyllis A. Moore.

He is survived by his children, Gary W. Hussey of Frankfort and his fiance, Linda Doody, William E. Hussey and his wife, Kathy, of Peru, Marilyn A. Levesque and her husband, Paul, of Winterport; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
