YARMOUTH – St. Dom’s girls hockey team began playoff action Wednesday with a 7-0 victory over Cony. Alyssa Plourde scored what proved-to-be the game-winner with 6:08 left in the first period. Kayle Tyburski and Brittany Michaud drew assists. Plourde later scored a second goal. Michaud also tallied 2 goals. Others lighting the lamp were Cameo Larrivee, Bri Landry and Maria Barone. Other assist-makers were Erica Van Der Werf (2), Tessa Matthews, Tyburski, Renee Meservier, Ari Olbrych (2) and Landry.

Next playoff game for the Saints is Saturday at 9:20 a.m. at the Falmouth Ice Center.

Auburn Youth League

AUBURN – Northeast Plastic Surgery Squirts advanced to the semi-final round at the recent Squirt Travel Tier II State Tournament held at Ingersoll Arena.

Northeast skated to a 4-1 win over Casco Bay Travel in the opener. Nate Bergeron notched a hat trick and added an assist. Drew Lupardo added a goal and an assist, while Clay Rowland and Kara Violette collected assists. Mariah Mosher was the winning goalie.

Auburn suffered a 6-2 loss to Brewer Travel. Chris Tarr tallied both of the goals, while Bergeron, Violette and Matt Berube drew assists. Mosher tended net.

Northeast got back on the winning trail with a 6-2 triumph over Bangor Travel. Bergeron registered a hat trick and Violette added 2 goals. Lupardo also lit the lamp. Credited with assists were Zack DeBlois (2), Ian Durgin, Ryan Ratsep and Lupardo. Mosher was between the pipes again.

Auburn rolled past Winslow Travel 8-1 as Violette popped home 3 goals. Bergeron and Durgin added 2 apiece. Lupardo also scored. Assists went to Lupardo (2), Rand, DeBlois, Violette and Bergeron. Mosher again donned the pads.

Brewer Travel ousted Auburn 3-1 in a semifinal game. Mosher was outstanding, keeping the game close. Brewer scored an empty net goal with just seconds left. Bergeron netted the lone Auburn goal.
