WALES – Revised ordinances will be presented at a special public hearing at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, at Wales Central School.

Selectmen and the Planning Board have updated the ordinances to comply with the Comprehensive Plan that was adopted at the 2004 town meeting.

Any changes made to the ordinances at the meeting on March 8 will be presented at an April 12 meeting for final approval before being placed on the warrant for this year’s town meeting in June.

The revised ordinances are Subdivision, Shoreland Zoning, Floodplain Management, Land Use, Road, Telecommunication Siting, Site Plan Review and a newly created Definitions Ordinance designed to help standardize definitions from document to document.

Also on March 8, there will be a brief discussion about the amendments to the Comprehensive Plan, which will be presented at a second public hearing at 7 p.m. April 12, at Wales Central School.

The public hearing will be for the purpose of approving the amendments to the Comprehensive Plan to bring the plan into compliance with State Planning Office recommendations.

Wales Planning Board regular meetings occur at 7 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at the Town Office on Center Road.
