CANAAN, N.H. – Cathleen Doris Quimby Lewis, 45, of Canaan, N.H., died Sunday, March 6, at home, after a long illness with breast cancer.
She was born in Lewiston, Jan. 18, 1960, the daughter of Robert Russell Quimby and Mary Wilma Hill. She was a graduate of Leavitt Area High School, Class of 1978, and a 1996 cum laude graduate of UNH, with a bachelor’s degree in business management. She married Daniel M. Lewis on July 2, 1988, in Hanover, N.H.
She was a member of the Mascoma Valley United Methodist Church and enjoyed volunteering for the American Cancer Society. She had a great love for the outdoors, enjoying camping with her husband and their black Lab, Daisy. She was an enthusiastic genealogist and wrote two books on her family history.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel M. Lewis of Canaan, N.H.; mother, Mary W. Hill of Topsham; brothers, Scott Robert and Nadia Quimby of North Turner, and Richard Leroy and Gene Quimby of Windham; nieces, Monica Lynn and Sarah Marie Quimby of North Turner, Leonie Cathleen Quimby of Windham, and Camille Lewis of Hudsonville, Mich.; nephews, Marco and Carter Lewis of Hudsonville, Mich., and Graham and Taylor Lewis of Slidell, La.; her father-in-law, Robert W. Lewis of Charleston, S.C.; mother-in-law, Kathryn A. Livingston of Apple Valley, Minn.; and brothers-in-law, David M. Lewis of Hudsonville, Mich., and John P. and Donna Lewis of Hudsonville, Mich.
She was predeceased by her father, Robert R. Quimby; grandparents, Leroy J. and Ella M. Quimby, Harold C. Hill and Wilma E. Barbour; and cousins, Lester “Boofy” Quimby and Janet Hutchinson.
