LEWISTON – REALIZE!Maine, a statewide initiative to get young adults to stay in Maine, is hosting a “Meet-N-Greet” event at DaVinci’s Eatery from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Organizers are looking to gather people 20 to 34 years old to share their ideas and learn more about the initiative. They also hope to gain feedback on REALIZE!Maine’s goals and objectives. A representative will be on hand to explain the group’s focus and welcome attendees.
“While having fun and socializing, we want to open up dialogue regarding career and educational opportunities and want to hear the ideas and solutions of Maine’s young people in order to make Maine the best place in which to live, work and learn for 20- and 30-somethings,” said Yellow Light Breen, who is chairing the REALIZE!Maine initiative.
Other gatherings will be held in Portland, Bangor, Augusta and Dover-Foxcroft. In Lewiston, complimentary food will be served and a cash bar will be available.
Those interested in attending should respond to [email protected].
REALIZE!Maine was launched by Gov. John Baldacci last year to help stem the tide of young adults leaving Maine. It began with a statewide summit on youth migration issues in June.
