LEWISTON – Decisions about selling city land and changing towing rules will have to wait another week or so.
The City Council’s meeting was canceled Tuesday night, bowing to a heavy winter storm.
City Clerk Kathy Montejo said the meeting would be rescheduled, and the items put on a future agenda.
“There were a number of public hearings we needed to do,” Montejo said. “We just don’t have date set yet.”
Councilors were scheduled to review a list of proposals to purchase 10 unused city properties. City Administrator Jim Bennett said he wants to get those properties into private hands and generating property taxes before April 2.
Councilors were also scheduled to vote on a new fee structure for tow truck and wrecker operators.
The council has two more meetings scheduled this month. Bennett is scheduled to present his proposed budget to councilors on March 22. The public will be able to comment on that budget at a special public hearing on March 29.
