TEMPLE – Selectman Ben Milster said he doesn’t see anything controversial on the town meeting warrant – but you never know.

It all depends on how much people want to talk, Milster said this week.

Elections for a three-year selectman’s term and one-year terms for town clerk, tax collector and treasurer, and for road commissioner will be held from the floor.

The town meeting starts at 7 p.m. Monday, March 14, at the Town Hall.

Milster said he is seeking re-election to a second term.

Longtime Town Clerk Marie Andrews also is seeking re-election to one-year terms as town clerk, tax collector, treasurer and excise tax collector, and Road Commissioner Raymond Niles would like another term as well, Milster said.

Townspeople have 50 articles to consider.

The proposed spending plan for municipal government operations for 2005 is $505,745, $15,000 more than 2004, Milster said. That amount does not include the town’s share of the SAD 9 and Franklin County budgets.

The increase is spread all around, he said, including a $6,000 increase for winter roads. Last year, voters raised $85,000 for winter roads and, this year, the request has increased to $91,000, Milster said.

There are no significant increases in any budget line, Milster said.

This year’s warrant reads pretty much like last year’s, he said.
