GENTRY, ARK. – George J. Michaud, 58, formerly of Metcalf Road, Winthrop, passed away March 10, at his home, after a long battle with cancer, with his two daughters beside him.
Born in Augusta, Nov. 20, 1946, he was the son of Wilfred and Marie Blanch Carrier Michaud. He graduated from Winthrop High School in 1964.
He joined the Marines and later joined the Army and retired in Arkansas after 20 years in the military. After his retirement from the military, he went to work for the county in Fayetteville, where he worked as an equipment service technician up until two years ago.
Survivors include his mother of d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston; two daughters, Suzette and Yvette of Gentry, Ark.; sisters, Pauline Fenton and her husband, George, of Winthrop, Marianne and her husband, Leo, of Burlington, Conn., and Louise of Sherbrooke, Canada.
He was predeceased by his wife, Beth Sawyer, on Dec. 25, 2004; his father; two brothers, Gene of Hartford, Conn., and Ernest of Winthrop; and one sister, Lena of Hartford, Conn.
