TICONDEROGA, N.Y. – Patricia Ann Besson, 73, of Third Avenue, passed away Monday, March 14, at the Moses-Ludington Hospital of Ticonderoga, N.Y.

Born in Stamford, Conn., Oct. 5, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Dean and Edwina (O’Toole) Davis. She was a graduate who earned her teaching degree at the University of Maine at Farmington, and recently attended her 50-year college reunion.

She married her husband, George Robert Besson, on July 3, 1956.

She has been a resident of Ticonderoga, N.Y., since 1956 and was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Ticonderoga. She was employed as a full-time teacher and later a substitute teacher for the Ticonderoga Central School District and St. Mary’s School of Ticonderoga. She was also employed as manager of the Stone House Motel of Ticonderoga, N.Y., for 25 years.

Survivors include her husband of 48 years, George R. Besson; three sons, Alec John Besson, of Phoenix, Ariz., Peter William Dean Besson, of Ticonderoga, and Francis Blaine Besson, of Delray Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Margaret Alice McCollum, of Delray Beach, Fla., and Tresha Mary Montbriand, of Ticonderoga; one sister, Wardie Atwood, of New Portland; nine grandchildren, Christa Morse, Jennifer Morse, Renee McCollum, John Besson, Alec Besson, Christopher Besson, Anna Besson, Mathew Montbriand, and Josiah Besson; and one niece.
