LEWISTON – Lynda Sylvester Deis, 65, of Suffolk, Va., died early Thursday morning, March 17, at Central Maine Medical Center with her family at her side.

She was born in Lewiston, July 27, 1939, a daughter of Lyndon E. and Lulu (Bowie) Sylvester. She was educated in local schools and graduated from Edward Little High School.

She worked for many years in the medical field as an ultrasound technician until ill health forced her retirement in 1988. Although she has lived for many years prior in New York, Florida and most recently Virginia, she always enjoyed coming back to Maine for annual visits during the summer when she could enjoy her lobster dinners at the coast and also festive times during the Christmas season.

She was a member of the Mayflower Society and she loved going out to eat as often as she could. She was a very avid reader who also liked to play cribbage and was a master at doing crossword puzzles.

She leaves two daughters, Stacey Carse and husband, Joel, of Suffolk, Va., and Diana Diduck and husband, Gerald, of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren, Christopher and Alexandra Diduck and Jacob and Noah Carse; and two brothers, Lyndon “Sonny” Sylvester and wife, Gail, of Durham, and Peter A. Sylvester and wife, Dana, of Colorado. She was also a beloved aunt to Daniel Sylvester and wife, Lillie, of Durham, Mark Sylvester and wife, T.J., of Wales, and Matthew Sylvester and wife, Debra, of Vermont.
