RIMOUSKI, Quebec (AP) – Sidney Crosby had a goal and two assists and the Rimouski Oceanic beat Acadie-Bathurst 6-4 in the regular-season finale Sunday to extend their unbeaten streak to a Quebec Major Junior Hockey League-record 28 games.
The 17-year-old Crosby finished the season with 66 goals and 102 assists for 168 points to win the scoring title by 54 points over teammate Dany Roussin.
Crosby is just the third player to win the scoring title by more than 50 points, joining Guy Lafleur (1970-71) and Mario Lemieux (1983-84).
Rimouski broke the record of 27 games without a loss set by Sorel in 1973-74 and matched by Quebec in 1998-99. Rimouski wrapped up the league championship with the victory, and has a first-round bye in the playoffs.
