“American Idol fans! Your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you. If you think you saw parts of Wednesday night’s “Idol” on Tuesday, you’re right.

Because of an error with the graphics shown on screen, incorrect voting numbers were displayed during Tuesday night’s show for Anwar Robinson, Mikalah Gordon, and Jessica Sierra, skewing the vote totals.

But as “Idol” executive producer Ken Warwick explained at a news conference Wednesday, “We turned the show around overnight, and the mistake was added at about 4 in the morning and nobody caught it until we were on the air.”

So Wednesday night, all 11 performances from Tuesday were shown once more and viewers were asked to vote again. The results will be revealed on a special broadcast Thursday night at 9, followed by the premiere of the sitcom “Life on a Stick,” which got bounced Wednesday night so Ryan Seacrest could make sure all was right with the world.

AN “IDOL’ SIGNED?

It seems that “American Idol” retiree Mario Vazquez may have a backstage deal with Sean “P. Diddy” Combs’ Bad Boy record label. “I can’t discuss that right now,” Combs told the New York Post Wednesday. “We’re hopefully about to announce our plans for our next era.”

Vazquez, 27, was mum about it all. He has attributed his “Idol” withdrawal to unspecified “personal” reasons. We think Homeboy doesn’t want to be tied to the contract with RCA.
