DOVER, N.H. (AP) – The deaths of a man and a woman whose bodies were found in a local apartment building were the result of a murder-suicide, the state’s medical examiner’s office says.
Officers went to the apartment Monday after acquaintances of the victims requested police check on them, Assistant Attorney General Peter Odom said. Inside, they found the bodies of Jennifer Zani, 32, and Shawn Hill, 27.
Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Jennie Duval said that Hill shot Zani before turning the gun on himself. Both died from a single gunshot wound to the head, Duval said.
Dover police and the attorney general’s office are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
Odom would not say what prompted the call, only that it came from “acquaintances who were concerned about their whereabouts and well-being.”
