JAY – A Mass of Christian Burial with full military honors was celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, for Richard D. Smith at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay preceded by prayers at Finley Funeral Home, 15 Church St., Livermore Falls.
Officiating was the Rev. Richard Senghas. Eulogy was given by Don Daigle. Hymns were sung by the Resurrection Choir under the direction of Therese Therrien. Military members were under the direction of Richard Therrien. Firing squad members were Richard Dupont, Bob Welch, Dick Moreau, Joe Groomes, David O. Smith, Raoul Laplante, Wayne Parker and Tim Robbins. Honor guard members were Erlon Rose, Francis Therrien, Greg McDonald, Gerry Toothaker, Roland Therrien and Adrian Legere. Pallbearers were John Dube, Normand Chabot, Bob Roy, Drig Fournier, Don Lesuer and Mike Wadsworth. The flag was presented to the family by John Dube and Don Lesuer. Spring interment Holy Cross Cemetery in Livermore Falls.
