OXFORD – Donald L. Gould, 76, passed away at home with family by his side on Wednesday, March 30.

He was born on July 11, 1928, in Bristol, Conn., son of the late John and Hulday (Parker) Gould.

Donald attended Connecticut schools, then served in the Army during the Korean Conflict, and also served in the Merchant Marines.

He worked many years at Robinson Mfg., and also at Northern Bedrooms, where he later retired from.

Donald was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 9459, and a member of the American Legion Post 158.

He enjoyed dancing, fishing, camping, traveling to Florida, playing pool with his son, playing the game Aggravation,’ filming wildlife, and he was an avid fan of NASCAR racing.

He is survived by a daughter, Linda Starbird of Lisbon; a son, Donald Gould Jr. of Lisbon; a son, John and his wife, Tina Gould, of Oxford; a stepson, Larry and his wife, Nancy Whorff, of West Bowdoin; two brothers, Leland Gould of West Bowdoin, and Frank Gould of Lisbon; two sisters, Pauline Cooper of New Hampshire, and Bessie Ferris of Washington State; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a dear friend, Ruth Bean.

He was predeceased by a brother, John Gould; a sister, Jean Gould Giles; a daughter-in-law, Marie Gould; and a son-in-law, Rodney Starbird.
