POLAND – Lillian A. Edwards, 73, died Wednesday, March 30, at her residence.

She was born in New Gloucester, Sept. 26, 1931, the daughter of Randall May and Nellie Walker May.

On Aug. 26, 1950, she married Francis Edwards in Poland. Lillian and Francis did most everything together including, church, camping, and the grange.

Lillian was an active member in her church. She enjoyed singing in the chorus. She remained strong and was an inspiration to her family and friends who visited her during her illness. She enjoyed talking to them about her faith and how she was ready to go home to be with her Lord, Jesus.

She was an active member of the Excelsior Grange and also a member of the Pomona, state and national granges. She was also a member of the New Gloucester Senior Citizens.

Lillian enjoyed traveling and camping in her RV and she was a member of the Fireside Camping Group. She always looked forward to spending a week at the Fryeburg Fair with her husband.

She is survived by her husband, Francis, of 55 years; her three daughters, Ruth Weymouth and Rose Pelletier, both of Lewiston, and Frances Rugg of Oxford; one son, Alonzo of Mechanic Falls; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Bobby, of Poland; and three sisters-in-law, Doris, Effie and Beverly.

She was predeceased by her parents; three sisters; and one brother.
