SEATTLE (AP) – Rashard Lewis has a deep bone bruise in his right foot, sidelining the Seattle SuperSonics’ All-Star forward indefinitely.

Team officials said Friday they’d know more about the injury after weekend tests.

“He had an MRI today, and it showed a bone bruise and a bruise to the tendon,” general manager Rick Sund said. “We’re going to do a bone scan tomorrow and a CT scan Monday to get a little more information about how long he’s going to be out.”

Lewis, averaging 20.7 points and 5.5 rebounds, was hurt Sunday night in a loss to Washington, when coach Nate McMillan said he “jammed it on the floor.” Lewis continued to play, but the injury became too painful later in the week.

“It’s not good news. He’s out for tonight and it could be a little longer,” McMillan said.

Sund said Lewis’ foot hasn’t responded to treatment, so team officials decided to continue with a range of tests. Lewis will wear a protective boot.

“It’s tender,” Sund said. “We’ve done the rest. We’ve done the treatment. It hasn’t really been responding, so it’s time to do the tests.”

There was some encouraging injury news for the Sonics. Reserve forward Vladimir Radmanovic, out four to six weeks with a stress fracture in his right leg, is out of his cast and responding well.

“Vlade came out of the cast today, which is two weeks,” Sund said. “He’s in the boot. He’s been doing work in the pool. In two weeks we’ll know where he’s at. We’ll have a better timeline because that will be four weeks.”

Radmanovic was averaging 11.8 points and 4.6 rebounds when he was hurt.
