PORTLAND – Florence L. Pinette, 88, of Stroudwater Street, Westbrook, and Sabbathday Lake, New Gloucester, died Saturday, April 2, surrounded by her loving family, at Mercy Hospital.

She was born in Auburn on Feb. 2, 1917, a daughter of Levi and Alice Morin Lachance.

She was raised and educated in Westbrook, and was a 1935 graduate of Westbrook High School.

She married Camille R. Pinette in 1942. She and her husband owned and operated A. Pinette & Son Oil Co., where she worked in the office.

Upon her retirement, she spent winters in Pompano Beach, Fla., and summers at the family cottage at Sabbathday Lake, New Gloucester.

She was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and aunt.

She is survived by a son, Paul A. Pinette and his wife, Deborah, grandchildren, Jami H. and Paul C. Pinette, and daughter, Pamela R. Pinette, all of Westbrook; a brother, Marcel Lachance of Standish; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Camille Pinette, on Dec. 5, 1999; and four brothers, Lionel, Armand, Ronald and Romeo Lachance.
