FARMINGTON – Ruth Lenore Winter, 93, of Livermore, died Saturday, April 2, at the Sandy River Center for Health Care in Farmington.

She was born, May 6, 1911, in Wilton, a daughter of Arthur and Maude Rowe. She grew up on Walker Hill in Wilton attending the local schools, graduating from Wilton Academy in 1929. She went on to attend the Farmington Normal School.

On June 14, 1940, she married Ralph Winter in Wilton. He died in 1980.

She taught in various schools throughout the state including two Christian Academies.

She was a member of the Wayside Bible Baptist Church in Livermore and enjoyed making various crafts for family and friends.

She is survived by a stepson, Elvin Winter and his wife, Barbara, of Jay; a sister, Helen Severy of Livermore; four grandchildren, Sherry Chabot and her husband, Raymond, of Livermore, Darryl Winter and his wife, Belinda, of Livermore, Trudy Leen and her husband, John, of Livermore Falls, Tammy Capen and her husband, David, of Minot; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a sister, Harriete Niles, and a brother, Roger Rowe.
