HICKORY, N.C. – Shelby Dyer, 67, of Springdale Drive, Newton, N.C., died Sunday, April 3, at Catawba Valley Medical Center.

Born July 20, 1937, in Rumford, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Forrest and Dorothy Byron Greene. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Hickory, N.C.

Survivors include daughters and son-in-law, Wendy and Steven Williams of Hickory, N.C., and Cokie Nickerson of Presque Isle; grandchildren, Amanda Williams, Derek Nickerson, Kati Morrison, Mitchell Nickerson and Levi Williams; great-grandchild, Tracy Jade-Elaine Morrison; sister, Pearl Weston of Peru; brothers, Reuben Greene of New Hampshire and Johnny Greene of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, the Rev. Edward M. Dyer; and a brother, Wendell Greene.
