LEWISTON – Jeannine A. Poisson, 75, of 76 College St., in Lewiston, died early Monday morning, April 4, at Central Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Lewiston, Aug. 4, 1929, the only child of Richard and Alberta (Laplante) Conley. She was educated in local schools and remained a lifelong resident of this community.

On June 27, 1953, she married Richard A. Poisson and they would have celebrated 52 wonderful years together this year. She worked more than 40 years in the healthcare profession at CMMC as a certified nurse’s aid until her retirement in 1993. She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Church and in her free time enjoyed making popcorn, shopping at Marden’s, reading, collecting, playing cards and traveling. After their 25th anniversary, they traveled for the next 12 years Disneyland and then to Aruba and the Bahamas.

She leaves her husband of 51 years, Richard A. Poisson of Lewiston; a daughter, Dorothy Poisson of Lewiston; five sons, David Poisson and his wife, Debbie, of Sabattus, Denis Poisson of Bath, Donald Poisson of Lewiston, Daniel Poisson and his wife, Karen, of Lewiston and Douglas Poisson of Lewiston; nine grandchildren Jennifer, Maranda, Travis, Donna-Ann, Julie, Jakob, Jeremy, Lukas and Joshua Poisson; and four great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Kyra and Colby Poisson and Cyrus Brackley.

She was predeceased by her parents.
