TURNER – The chairman of the Leavitt Institute Committee and a man with a long history of service to the town was elected selectman Friday.

Ralph Caldwell, 62, received 107 votes in the three-way race and was declared the winner, Town Clerk Eva Leavitt said.

Coming in a very close second was four-term Selectman Jennifer Wadsworth, 50, with 104 votes. Paul Bernard received 48 votes.

Chosen for the Budget Committee were Scott Honaker, who received 188 votes; Charles Mock, 159 votes; and Michelle Arsenault, 146 votes, Leavitt said.

The fourth candidate, Eric Breidenstein, got 116 votes.

SAD 52 Director Joshua Morris was unopposed and re-elected with 217 votes.
